Disposal by court/Dismissal of Govt. servants

During the period, 174 Vigilance cases have been disposed off in the court of law. Out of these 174 cases, 23 cases were abated due to death of the accused persons. Out of the rest 151 cases, 83 cases ended in conviction against 84 public servants and 6 private persons, which is 55%. 36 public servants have been dismissed from Government service after being convicted by the Vigilance Courts viz. 1 Class-I Officer, 5 Class-II Officer, 27 Class-III employees, 1 Class-IV employee and 2 other Public servants.


Corruption in the appointment of R.I / ARI and Amin in Bolangir District:


Sambalpur Vigilance P.S case No. 78 dt.30.9.14 u/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) P.C.Act has been registered against the then Collector, BDO, Deputy Collector and others of Bolangir District on the allegation of showing undue official favour to the undeserved candidates for the post of RI/ARI & Amin by manipulating and forging the question-cum-answer sheets thereby depriving the qualified candidates for the post. During investigation of the case the then Collector has been arrested and forwarded to custody.Investigation of the case is in progress.

Corruption by Horticulture Officers in Fruit Plantation, Mayurbhanj District:


2 Vigilance cases (Balasore Vig. P.S. Case No.50 and 51/2014 ) have been registered against Horticulture Overseer, Assistant Horticulture Officer (Retd.) and Horticulture Extension Worker all O/o Asst. Director, Horticulture, Kaptipada, Udala, Dist: Mayurbhanj on the allegation of misappropriation of Govt. money of `.31,46,995/- by showing 8300 number Mango Plantation in the specified area by preparing false records showing plantation in larger area in villages of Rani Pokhari and Balichua under Kaptipada Block.

During investigation, 2645 number of Mango trees were found against 8300 (as shown). Horticulture Overseer, Assistant Horticulture Officer (Retd.) and Horticulture Extension Worker were arrested and forwarded to court.


N.B: National Horticulture Mission through MGNREGS is promoting the growth of Horticulture sector by planting fruit plants like Mango, Lichi, Citrus, Cashew, Sapeta, Guava etc.
