Corruption in Cooperative Banks

During the year, altogether 4 cases have been registered by the State Vigilance on the allegation of corruption in Cooperative Banking Sector, involving employees of the Banks and other public servants. Investigation is in progress in all the cases.


During the year 2014, altogether 4 cases have been registered by the State Vigilance on the allegation of illegal sanction and disbursement of loan in Cooperative Banking Sector, involving employees of the Banks and other public servants. Investigation is in progress in all the cases.

Sundergarh District Central Coop.Bank:


During the year 2014, 8 cases have been registered on the allegation of corruption in Sundergarh District Central Co-operative Bank, Rourkela Branch. Ex-Branch Manager and Ex-Accountant of the Bank have been arrested and forwarded in custody. All the cases are pending for investigation.

Corruption in Sundargarh District Central Co-operative Bank Ltd, Rourkela Branch (SDCC Bank Ltd.):


During the year 2014, 8 Criminal Cases have been registered (Sambalpur Vig. P.S. Cse No.3, 4, 5, 6, 12, 34, 65, 75 of 2014) against Ex-Branch Manager and Accountant-cum-I/c Ex-Branch Manager both of SDCC Bank Ltd., Rourkela Branch, Sundargarh on the allegation of misappropriation of Bank money to the tune of `.3 Crores (approximately) by manipulating bank records without accounting the same in the Book of Accounts of the bank during the financial year from 2005-2013. During Investigation both Ex-Branch Manager and Accountant-cum-I/c Ex-Branch Manager were arrested and forwarded in custody.

Corruption in Odisha State Cooperative Bank, Cuttack:

Cuttack Vigilance P.S. Case No.59 dt.20.12.2014 has been registered against Branch Manager, Head Clerk and Field Officer all of Odisha State Cooperative Bank, Cuttack and others on the allegation of allowing huge loan of ` 3,80,63,779/- to 67 loanees by using the false document as genuine and showing the loanees as employee of R & B Division, Cuttack falsely.
Investigation of the case is in progress.
